Summer to Fall Makeup Transition

fall makeup transition

Listen closely ladies! It's important to transition your makeup from summer to fall. We know this sounds daunting, but it can actually be quite simple. You don't have to completely overhaul your makeup bag, but as the seasons change, so should a few essential items. Decreases in temperature and humidity often have dramatic effects on our skin, requiring us to re-evaluate what products we wear. During the fall, our skin starts to react to the cooler air, causing dryness and flaking, especially if you live further from the equator, like we do in Massachusetts.

It's also important to account for a change in color palettes. We bet you're like us, and often wear bright clothes and floral patterns during the summer, but as fall and winter approach, your wardrobe becomes darker (and plusher...hello, sweater weather!). However, just because summer is coming to an end doesn’t mean you can’t keep that summer glow with you all year ‘round.

One of my favorite tricks for an instant glow is applying Warm Bronze Dream Tint Tinted Moisturizer under my base. I apply a dot of the moisturizer on my forehead, nose, chin, and cheeks. I then blend the Dream Tint using my Blending Brush before applying my PurePressed Powder Mineral Foundation. This gives me a bronze glow that is very natural and subtle.

I’ve also fallen in love all over again with So-Bronze 3. Using the Dome Brush, I apply a little of the matte color to my forehead and the top of my cheekbones, as well as the bridge of my nose. To illuminate the look, use the shimmer crescent within So-Bronze 3.

I may be a summer girl at heart, but I am so excited for the new makeup colors of fall: reds, purples and bronzes. I can’t wait to combine my summer glow tricks with these gorgeous colors! Stay tuned, we’re working on some great fall looks that we think you will love and can’t wait to share with you!
