Lid Primer

Lid Primer

It adds a subtle highlight to the lid, and can be worn alone or with shadows on top.

The Look polished The Feel weightless

Ever wonder how you can keep eye shadows from creasing on oily lids, or how you can get more life and longer wear out of your favorite color? Our lid primer also doubles as a shadow that can be applied with a finger to make the eye look moist and shimmery.

Hydrated silica controls oil so perfectly, you'll never see a creased shadow again

Isostearyl Neopentanoate, Mica, Glyceryl Stearate, Cyclomethicone, Copernicia Cerifera Cera, Silicone Powder, Hydrated Silica. [+/- (May Contain) Titanium Dioxide (Ci 77891), Iron Oxides (Ci 77489, Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499)]

With our Camouflage Brush, apply a thin layer all over eye lid. It will act as a highlighter where you don't apply shadow and a primer where you do. Don't apply it too thickly or it will crease. If you are dealing with an oily lid, smooth our Lid Primer over the entire eye area first. Then, with the Eye Shader Brush smooth the highlighter color all over eye from lash line to brow. Use not only as a primer, but a highlighter as well on brow and cheek bones.

Love this primer, a must have

This is the best primer, my shadow application last all day, which is usually 14 hours. I have both the Petal ( subtle pink) and the Canvas (subtle yellow), both have a slight shimmer, not over the top. I find "less" is best, barely touch my ring finger to the product, place it in the center of my lid and blend it from there.

Amazing as a Highlighter

Read full review for why I gave this product 5 stars. I purchased this in "Petal" (pink) about a year ago. However, it soon was set aside, because I just simply could not get it to work as a primer. I tried all different forms of applications, layering it with other primers, countless things, but it always creased on me and melted away within minutes! Perhaps it's because I have very oily lids. This product is not like any other eye primer I've tried. It's thinner and slippery. It's not a denser, tackier formula, like MAC paint pots. Today I went to toss it but suddenly felt inspired. I dabbed it on my cheekbones and - WOW! - the most gorgeous, lit-from-within highlight I've ever seen! This product is a stunning highlighter. I now use it on my cheekbones, above and below my eyebrows, on the tip of my nose and my cupid's bow. It's subtle but beautiful and makes me look super glowy. Over the moon with it - very pleased I gave it a second chance!

My eyeshadow is staying in place!

My eye shadow has always been in the eye crease by the middle of the day, no matter what brand I've used. Not anymore! I put Lid Primer on using the same method as the video. Then when I'm putting powder on my face I sweep across my lids too. Then comes liner and shadow, and it STAYS. Wow - great product. Thank you!

I wanted to like this product. I really did. But it simply does not work for me. I applied the tiniest amount of product and blended all over my lid, but it still creased. The greasy texture seems odd for a primer. I love that it is vegan and natural however I would not buy this again.

Petal is perfect

On my monitor, the shade I use looks a lot darker than it is in person, so don't be put off by that if you have the same issue. It's a very nice soft shade of pinky beige, featherweight and glides on beautifully without any of the harsh glitter that looks so nasty on older eyelids (I'm pushing 65). Sometimes I use it alone, sometimes fluff some blush over it, and of course it makes the ideal base for shadows.

Love JI, but not this product

I am as much of a JI lover as they come, but this product did not work at all for me. I've tried thick application, with a brush, with my fingers, a thin application, blending, applying shadow right away, letting it dry, you name it. Within a few hours, the shadow creases and my eyeliner crumbles. Sadly, I am past my return time, so I'm stuck with it. Any application tips out there?

Our Response

It sounds like you’re applying the product correctly but it’s very important to remember that only a very small amount of product, about the size of the tip of a pen, is needed per application.

lid primer

I have used up the Canvas color and am now reordering. I have loved the moisture this primer adds to my lids as they have become dryer with age. I usually use it alone but it is very nice under other eyeshadows as well. This time I am ordering the Petal color.

love the color, but...

i wanted to love this product, but... unfortunately, it seems like it never really "sets up" on the lid. i have tried it several times and each time it felt a bit greasy and creased within the first few hours after application. i was so disappointed! the color, however, is beautiful! just wish it didn't crease...

Our Response

Hi there, If it is creasing, you may be using too much product. You only need the tiniest amount, and it should be very sheer. If you prefer a stay-put, creamy eye shadow, try our Eye Gloss (which also works as a wonderful primer!).

I've been using "Canvas" lid primer for some time and it is wonderful. Gives the whole eyelid a nice glow, without needing eye shadow! But also works well when I want to add shadow.

Really works!

I have trouble with shadows creasing and/or wearing off quickly. I have used this product for a year with great success preventing this from happening. Love the shimmer too.
