Luscious Lashes: Getting the Most out of Mascara

I will admit, it took me awhile to change to Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara, but now I am a dedicated convert and I am here to spread the word!

The texture is thick because we replaced the water found in most mascaras with conditioning algae extracts. It takes a little getting used to, but with a few little tricks from my friends here at jane iredale (including Jane), I have really fallen in love with this remarkable mascara, and now I won’t use anything else:

  1. For truly luscious lashes, apply a coat of PureLash Lash Extender & Conditioner; then while it is still damp, apply Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara in your favorite shade. It goes on like a dream and you get full feathery lashes with no clumps! Why should you buy a separate lash conditioner? Would you ever wash your hair and skip conditioner? Then why would you let your lashes dry out and get brittle?
  2. In a pinch, right after spritzing your face with Hydration Spray, apply Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara while your lashes are still wet and the mascara glides right on.
  3. Rock the brush at the base of the lashes and move the brush up and out.  Don’t overdo mascara.  It makes eye look larger for sure, but if it’s applied too heavily, it can also pull the focus and draw attention to matted lashes (what is with the spider-lash trend?).
  4. Try it once without your eyelash curler and you may decide you no longer need one!
  5. If you skimped on sleep, apply mascara to top lashes only to wake up tired eyes.
  6. Looking for extra drama? Apply extra coats to the outer third of your lashes, fanning up and out. To create a doe-eyed Twiggy-look, fan the inner third up and in, the middle third straight up and the outer third up and out.
  7. If you are going day to night, you can simply apply extra coats of Longest Lash Thickening and Lengthening Mascara right on top. It will not clump or flake! Try that with another mascara!
  8. Color choices:
  • Black Ice is classic black, and provides drama and definition.
  • Espresso makes blue eyes really pop.
  • Ripe Plum is a great look for green eyes, or to contrast with teal and aqua eye shadows.
  • Dark Blonde is great for blondes (of course) and those looking for a softer lash look. it never seems harsh!
  • Dark Auburn is a stunning shade for red-heads and green-eyed gals.
  • Slate Grey works well with silver tresses as well as anyone seeking a softer option.
  1. How is it removed? It has to be as easy as Trish McEvoy mascara (silicone based) to remove, which is water and/or cleanser, not with mineral oil or petroleum product. thanks,

  2. Hi Ellen,    All of our makeup, including our mascaras, are petroleum free, and we would never require you to use somethig yucky to remove it! This mascara can be removed easily with cleanser and water, or better yet with our Magic Mitt and water.

  3. Where do you get this product that I heard grows lashes back fast I picked out almost all my lashes since I was little it’s a nervous habit I have had I finally have stopped now am 14 lashes almost all grown back but my right eye ( towards iPod) has a little space that has like one tiny eyelashe thing it just isn’t growing back so I need a non pricey product to use for this problem please email me as soon as possible with the product name and price also where to get it I live in largely British Columbia so help me out please thank u

  4. Hello

I used to swear by this mascara; the best one I ever used. However I do not get on with the new oversized brush 🙁 if I rock at the base of my lashes it leaves marks on my upper eyelid; if I use only half way through the bristles, it doesn’t give me the amazing effect it used to. So I had to switch to the basic lengthening JI mascara, which is good too, but I so loved the non-water based longest lash formula.

Perhaps Jane could look into making different wands which you can use with your favourite JI mascara formula? E.g. an old brush for those like me, who used to love it, short bristle brush for ladies who have short curly lashes close to an eyelid.. Please 🙂
