Skincare Supplements with Recyclable Packaging

  • 2 min read

BY CHELSEA SIMMONS

I’m really pleased to be able to share the following letter with you. I thought you’d enjoy reading it because it shows the deep integrity that lies behind the Skincare Supplements that we’re making available to you. It’s written by David Alpert, the creator and visionary behind Advanced Nutrition Programme, the suppliers of the Skincare Supplements. David speaks eloquently and movingly about the new packaging and why he chose to make it plastic-free. We know that the same care that has gone into the packaging is exhibited over and over again in the ingredient-sourcing and formulations of the supplements that we’re so proud to offer you. Take a moment to read on; I believe you’ll think it was worth it.

Thanks, Jane

david alpert I grew up in South Africa and from an early age spent every moment that I could in water, whether competitively or as a result of different aquatic sports and activities.

I’ve always had a deep respect and concern for the environment, so I’m saddened by the disastrous effect that plastic has on our increasingly fragile eco-system. I’m a keen diver with a passion for sea life, which means that I’m particularly appalled by the impact it has on our oceans. Did you know that an estimated 90% of seabirds have plastic in their stomachs and more than 8 million tons of plastic are dumped in our oceans every year?*

According to the SurfRider Foundation, which champions environmental causes, this level of pollution kills over 100 million marine animals annually. A severely emaciated whale was recently found in Norway which had 30 plastic bags in its stomach. It had to be put down because the bags had blocked its intestines and it was in severe pain.

This has to stop. For the past two years, I’ve made it my personal mission to source a solution which reflects our respect for the environment as well as delivers unprecedented consumer appeal. Finally, my quest is over. Last month we launched Advanced Nutrition Programme™ with innovative new packaging, which not only looks beautiful in-salon, but is 100% recyclable and entirely free from plastic. We use vegetable based inks which are fully biodegradable, and the cardboard we use is 100% recyclable. Our futuristic new on site filling plant gives us complete control over the packaging process and provides sterile, climate controlled conditions to ensure the highest levels of supplement integrity. Our ingredients are also carefully sourced with the utmost concern for the eco-system, for example our fish oils are sourced from Epax who are certified by Friends Of The Sea. I am determined that Advanced Nutrition Programme™ plays no part in contributing further to the devastating impact that plastic is having on our environment. I hope you will join me in embracing our beautiful and environmentally responsible new packaging concept. david signature David Alpert, iiaa Managing Director
