Not just a pretty face: get gorgeous hands, legs and feet for summer!

The weather is finally warming up and it's time to let those legs and feet out for their day in the sun!

The obvious place to start is with a lovely manicure and pedicure. Whether you go to your favorite salon or DIY at home, colors this summer are fun and unexpected: deep nautical blue, bright orange, teal and bronze are just a few of my favorites. Our friends at Harper's Bazaar have a full roundup of the summer polish trends. But that's just a start. Nail polish looks best set off against great skin. For hands, frequent moisturizing is a must, and SPF is critical for keeping your skin smooth and radiant. All of our foundations (except Liquid Minerals) have SPF and are endorsed by the Skin Cancer Foundation. Try smoothing or dusting some on the backs of your hands once you finish applying to your face. Next, be sure to keep some Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen in your purse or car to apply to hands and arms when out or driving. It is amazing how much sun gets through the window. I discovered this once when I noticed a deeply tanned left arm. Yikes! If you like the way tan hands look with your summery nail polish, moisturize like crazy and apply Tantasia Self Tanner & Bronzer to the backs of hands (see below, because it is a must for legs too!). Now let's have some fun with the legs and feet. Even before it is truly warm, it's time to take those babies out from hibernation. Goodbye (for now) boots. Hello, pumps, sandals, even my Vans look cuter when my legs look great. Have you met our new secret weapon? Let me introduce Golden Shimmer Face and Body Lotion, a light moisturizing lotion saturated with skin softeners, antioxidants and gleaming shimmer. It is subtle, not super-sparkly, but transforms your skin, like liquid candlelight.

Golden Shimmer Lotion

My magic formula is simple: moisturizer + Tantasia + Golden Shimmer = gorgeous, sexy legs! If your legs aren't terribly dry, you may not need the extra moisturizer, but mine are, so that's how I begin. Then I mix 2 parts Tantasia with 1 part Golden Shimmer and apply to my legs and tops of my feet in sections, repeating as needed till I am covered. I go lightly/avoid knees and ankles. The I wash my hands like crazy. No shiny, tan palms for me, thanks! The Tantasia acts as an instant bronzer, and develops a natural-looking tan gradually over 2-3 days for me. The Golden Shimmer adds a luminous radiance that makes my skin look luscious but not greasy (my previous go-to trick was coconut oil). And if you don't need or want to add color? Golden Shimmer looks beautiful by itself on all skin tones and adds luster without color (also switch to this once you have developed the color you want with Tantasia). Just let your legs "dry" for about 15 minutes if you plan to wear clothing on top, and dark colors are probably a good idea with Tantasia. Finally, if you are going to expose that skin outside, please remember to top with Powder-Me SPF Dry Sunscreen. Gone are the days of ashy, pasty early-season skin, it's time to celebrate fabulous legs that are instantly ready for fun in the sun!
